The Finnish Language School of North Texas

The Finnish Language School of North Texas, Inc. was founded to teach the Finnish language, culture and customs to children with a Finnish background. Even though teaching is provided mainly to children and youth below the age of 16, everyone is welcome to participate in the school’s activities.

Students are divided into groups based on their age and their ability to speak Finnish. All groups meet approximately twice a month, apart from the summer months when there is no teaching. In Addition to the normal lessons, the school celebrates Finnish holidays and organizes other events such as sports days, festivals and concerts.

Our school is 100% staffed by volunteers. Our funding comes primarily from the Ministry of Education in Finland, the Finnish Society in Finland, and from our own fundraising efforts. The amount of the annual donations depends on the amount of students registered.
